Hi guys!

I have had the best idea of all time.

basically, you have to nominate the hottest playing punk guitarists, then everyone will get to vote out until we have our winner.

The winner will then be presented with a fabulous prize! awesome.

Don't bother renominating guitarist after guitarist.

I will start:
Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys)
Mick Rossi (Slaughter and the Dogs)
Howard Devoto (Buzzcocks)
Ross "Boss" Friedman (Dictators)

And for the record, I'm putting 50 bucks on East Bay Ray to win.

Get ****ing nominating y'all!

EDIT: Because people will come along and make long lists to look well punk, you can only nominate up to 4 people. So don't waste your vote on someone who's already been picked.

EDIT2: I have made nominations, but only so there's at least 4 people to choose from... I will refrain from voting in the polls.

The guy from Angel City Outcasts, forget his name at the moment.

Edit: Myspace has his name as Tak, but I'm too lazy to get out my cd and look at his last name.

Edit2: Oh... 4 picks... how about...

Tak - ACO
Johnny Thunders - NY Dolls, Heartbreakers, etc.
Mike Ness - Social Distortion
Marty Volume - Lower Class Brats

First of all, the Stray Cats are rockabilly, not "country blues stuff". Second, most modern rockabilly is pretty much considered punk, and the Stray Cats are no exception.

A good question.

I feel that like punk bands, the stray cats led a 50's rock and roll revival against the pretentious dinosaur rock movement.

I also feel that as proto punk bands are rightfully on their list, why not consider a band that helped strengthen and raise awareness for the psychobilly.

As Johnny Nemo once said "punk is urban blues music played hard and fast" (or words to that effect), the stray cats are no exception. The stray cat's are NOT country, in a climate of country music, the cats would have been branded heretics, not unlike their major influnces (buddy holly springs to mind...)

Plus of course Setzer is a great guitar player, so why the hell not.

Ok guys, when I get up tomorrow I will sort out the divisions and stick the polls up.

In other news, I finally jammed with my whole band and its starting to come together, although it admittedly needs more work.

Klaus Flouride isn't a jock.

He's a nerd with a schoolboy crush on Dinah Shore and likes crazy surf stuff. He's WAY to small to be a jock.

What if he played sub-par pop punk about hating corporations, only to sign onto RCA? Would you like him then?

But seriously, Klaus is awesome.

Ok, just compiling the polls.

Unfortunately due numerical complications I had to add someone I was sure no-one would vote for...

...so I chose none other than the king of punk, Glen Matlock.

EDIT: Actually, I organised a way to not need an extra person... so i took out joe strummer and left matlock in.
