Does anyone know what kinda of prices guitar shops are willing to pay for guitars. I bought my Maverick about 2 months ago, and i want to sell it back to the shop if possible. I bought it for £450, can anyone give me an estimate of what i might get back?

Not much in guitar shops, sell it privately and you'll get more.
Music shops have to buy it cheap and then put a mark up on it, so you won't get much for it.

I don't know what each individual shop would give but you've got to remember that the guy will still want to make something on it.

Lets see, if its in perfect condition he could prolly get 390/400 for it. If you were buying something else then he'll need to factor in the profit margin on whatever you're buying.

I'd say about 350.

Let us know how you get on.

i'd be happy with £350 tbh, cos im gonna sell my drum kit, then i'd have enough for the FX-400.

As I said it'd have to be in perfect condition.

Make sure you thoroughly clean it and shine it and tell the shop owner that its only been out of the case a couple of times and rarely played.

And make sure you're buying the new one at time of trade in, use it as a bargaining point.

yeah, the problem is that when they buy it from you they have to sell it on at market rate, so they have to give you considerably less than market rate for it to make it worth their while.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
