OK the head of the maths department at my teacher training placement school has challenged me to learn the beginning of Jotun by In Flames by the end of my placement.... So I'm busy on that - has anyone any tips on how to get the right sound?
I got an Ibanez RG170DX and a Line6 Spider II
also got a TS9 available
any thoughts?

sorry if this is posted in wrong place, i had a quick scout round but hope it's ok

You're running a $200 dollar overdrive through a solid state?
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.
