I just decided to pick up my old crappy guitar, and start playing it, just for kicks and giggles. It needed a new D string, so I put the new D in, and tuned the guitar. While I was playing it, I noticed that the A string had gone out of tune, so I tuned it up to match the 5th fret on E. I then noticed the D string was out of tune, so I tuned that up. Then, G was out of tune, so I tuned that up. Then, B was out of tune, so I tuned that up, and POP, the B string snapped. I was wondering "WHAT COULD OF GONE WRONG??!?!? ". I then plugged in my tuner (which is what I should of done in the first place), and noticed that the whole time, THE LOW E WAS ACTUALLY THE STRING OUT OF TUNE, and by tuning each string up, I was actually making them sharper and tighter, which is why the B snapped. I am feeling quite smooth right now.

Summary: I'm a dumbass.
Just wanted to share that with you. Don't let things like that happen to you.
