What do you do with the lock pads where the neck meets the head stock? When changing strings, of course you gotta loosen them to switch out the strings. But do you re-tighten the lock pads before or after you start tuning with the tuners? Also, how tight are you supposed to tighten the lock pads? Thanks for any help.
It is called a locking nut, only on guitars with floating tremolos. You need to keep it unlocked until you tune up, then you lock them and fine tune with the tuners down on your bridge. What guitar do you have?
