hi.
when u tune a bass to standard i know its g d a e, and u use the 5th frets. but how would i get the bottom string tuned to a g?
shall i tune it to the g string on my guitar or would that not be low enough.

help please.

from what you said, im assuming the E string is already tuned to standard pitch? you could just get an electronic tuner... i'd suggest the Korg 15$ tuner

none of my strings are tuned and i need it tuned by tonite so i cant rele buy a tuner.

how would i use another instrument to tune the bottom string?

Well, the best way i can think of is to do a harmonic on the tweltfh fret on your guitar and the bass and turn the bass to that...

The E String, then tune the rest of the bass to that.
EDIT: but if you don't have a tuner, then how do you know that your guitar is in tune?

You aren't trying to tune it upside down are you? The bottom (thickest) string should is E, the top (thinnest) string is G.

You need to match the low E of your guitar with the 12th fret of the E string on the bass.
