I use Dunlop Aligator Grip 0.7 gauge, they are just right for me and they have a grip surface so you dont drop em as easy when your playin! They are the purple ones lol :p

This has been done 1 000 000 000 times. Anyway.....I use Jim Dunlop .73 mm picks. But it depends on what type of music you play and your size preference.

I use Dunlop Tortex 1.14 cos they seem perfect for a mix of rhythm and lead work which i switch between alot. But i guess its all down to preference and how hard you hit the strings etc
#8
I use dunlop 88, cuase i read somewhere that metallica uses .88 picks. but then one time i was at the shop and i saw these picks for like a 1.50 there were like 10 1.0 picks so i bought them and theyre cool. They're more easy to stick to my fingers than those 88 ones, i dont think it has anyting to to do with the numbers.

i don't think it matters what brand you go with - i just go for about 1mm: dunlop 1.14, AXL Heavy, Gibson Heavy; whatever. it's only really thickness that matters, unless you want a specialised pick like the dunlop stubby or those shark fin ones. its a matter of personal preference.
#12
Dunlop and varied thickness. Also some peavy ones I've come across were good with a bit of a curve and some "cat-tounge" grip on them. I use them for lead because it really helps get volume and strong attack.
#14
Dunlop Jazz 3s. They rock.

Can someone recommend me a pick with a pointy tip that don't get worn down too easily?
I just bought a bunch of Paul Gilbert signature picks (not a fanboy), and what i like about them, is that they're really nice and pointy. However, after a couple days' use, the point is worn down, and it's all round and blunt. I'm a cheapskate, so I'd like to be able to use the same pick for at least a week.

I've used Jim Dunlop Jazz III picks for years without experiencing the same problem, but they are a tad too small.

I just use thick ones for guitar, and none for bass, a true bass player dosen't use a pick

I used to use Dunlops but started experimenting a bit. Gibsons are nice but break too quick. Fenders are good though. Bought a pack of 12 for £4, so thats cool with me.

we guitar players are simple people... if a machine makes a "wah" noise we simply call it a wah pedal, they have numbers for the pick sizes but we just use colors....Whatever works though man hahaha.
