hi guys,
i've been practicing the stairway solo for about a good month now, i know all the notes and now i'm just working on staying in time. But when I hit the continous bend and release part near the middle i fall apart...

its the part that goes (13 15b1713 13)
14

it seems to be those last three notes that are throwing me off, how do you pick them that fast??? i'm using guitar pro and at full speed its nearly impossible for me. Should I slow down just those last three notes, or keep the whole riff at normal speed until i can hit it?

lol sorry, i don't know how to write tab on here, but that 14 note is supposed to be on the g string, between the two 13 notes which are on the b string.

The best way to learn a passage/riff, is to start at a slow speed. Use a metronome (to stay in time, but its optional) and only go half as fast as the riff really is. Eventually, you'll know it so well that when you try to play it fast, it will come naturally.

That's how many people learn to riff and solo so fast.

Well for starters that tab doesn't look right (if its the part I think you're referring to).

I've never tried to post guitar tab before but it should look like this :

..............B.............R.......P............9x.......B
-------------------------------------------- l----15----------l
----------13----15----------13---------- l-----------------l
---14--------------------------------------.l-----------------l
---------------------------------------------l-----------------l
--------------------------------------------.l-----------------l
---------------------------------------------l-----------------l

B= Bend
R= Release
P= Pull-off

9x= Play that part nine times

Hope that helps

i really should take some lessons and learn to read that crap and such...

I hear ya'... looks like Greek to me - been playin' for 40 years.
Now running an Eleven Rack with Pro Tools 10.3.3 - it's amazing and I'm having ball with it - worth every penny. PT 10 is tops IMO and the Eleven Rack is a work of art!
