Ride into the battlefield
Head held high
Unprovoked
Knowing we will die
Charging on into the fray
On this dread filled day
No one will get out alive
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide

So much pain
In this blood filled rain
Diving into the unknown
Diving into the trenches of sorrow
Paving a road for tomorrow

(Chorus?)
On this path we walk
The path of the soldier
On the path of the blindfolded
The Kingdom of Salvation is lost
and I am left in the holocaust
Of deceit and lies
people say while looking in my eyes
Maybe they lie to fill the hole
left by the vacancy of their souls
For a man can only lie
after his soul has died.

Unprovoked, dread, sorrow.

Who is unprovoked? Your soldier or the enemy? It sounds like your soldier.

So your soldier is charging some unnamed enemy unprovoked, yet he is filled with dread and sorrow. It doesn't make sense it sounds like you're plucking these words out of the air just to make them rhyme, instead of for any coherent meaning.

I like the theme though, and its rhythm. I just have a problem with songs/poetry that don't mean anything.
