I have a Vox Valvetronix AD30VT amp and a Fender strat with a DiMarzio Superdistortion in the bridge, a SD coolrails in the middle and a SD hot rails in the neck. The tone I get from the bridge I am very happy with, however, the tones from the middle and neck on high gain, are a little too muddy. I want a smooth highgain sound out of them if possible. Should I just lower the actual pickups? They are both quite a long way out of the pickguard.

Thanks

its easy enough just to lower the pickups so give that a go then see if that fixes the problem

thanks. I was also thinking about getting a tube screamer TS9, I've heard an overdrive pedal can be good for cleaning up the signal.
