There are these Tube preams i saw...

beringher mic200 preamp

and

ART Tube MP Microphone Preamp (Model 127)

are they, or are preamps like these even worth it? Which one would you guys think is better? If they're both crap, would you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Depends on what you want it to do ad what you're going to use it for, if it's for direct recording then probably. If you're planning using them for your live sound then no, that's not what they do.

Should be worth getting then, it's not like it'll break the bank...it'll help vocals the most, but it'll improve your direct recording sound too.

yea i have the berhringer 200. works great for warming up direct line into computer, for vocals, guitars whatever. adds gain, changes output. and the box is a lightweight aluminum. feels sturdy.

it's not the Be all end all. but worth $40-50 if u plan on recording a lot.

The only think you really need to worry about as far as your live sound goes is a decent amp, or for vocals a decent PA.
