As the title suggests, I wana know what tuning most people prefer to play in. Or write songs in. Or whatever.

I love the sound of dropped B, but when I write songs they're in D natural (1 step down).

Yes I'm putting a poll up, so just wait.

I just play in standard, I hate fiddling with tunings.

Though I've always been tempted to tune down half step and put a capo on the first fret when I want to play standard.

just standard, drop D i find is just a lazy guys way of doing power chords, plus i find i can do more in standard.

I'm a standard kinda guy.
I'll drop D occasionally, but nothing else really.

Standard. I'll play Eb on occasion, but that's usually only for playing along with songs of that tuning.

same, but i think if i play "sugar" by system in drop d it sounds better...i voted for drop C tho, its a sexy little heavy tuning...but you cant go wrong with standard

I like D. A lot of the songs I play are in either D standard or drop C (which is of course easy to get to from D), so it's perfect for me.

I play in standard and drop D, plus open D, DADGAD, and open D minor. Tuning eveything down the basement doesn't work on an acoustic usually.

Open E for slide work.

My favorite is probably open G, though (DGDGBD)

I like D# most.. Just like the slight change. I play a lot better in it for some reason. No idea why - can't think of a practical reason.

how did you guess

however there is a lot that you can do with that tuning, so it's not just for playing JBT stuff.

Great for writing originals in

I play drop D,standard, drop c, and down half step. And sometimes down half a step then drop the E flat string to D flat. Its so crazy!
#33
Down one whole step. I dislike playing in "dropped" tunings. Although some of my favorite songs are in Drop-D, C, etc.
