Rites of Spring kicks ass, and I'm not exactly what you'd call and emo kid.

I'm so glad they actually mentioned them in that video.

but....that was NOT a Rites of Spring song they played....

that was so awesome.

Emo kids are supposed to be open minded individuals.
Now that i told you that, don't do it.

Seen that months ago

But its even funnier the second time around
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave.

The evolution of emo.

It was, and always will be, emotional hardcore. Punk, but faster and harder with some applied emotion.

Check out the early bands suggested.

how come no-one else belives me when i tell them this???

I find writing poems to be a weird way to get over problems.

I usually sit down and play battle filed 2 or play some hard power chords to get over problems.

The best way is to lie down in bed and listen to music.

How do you guys get over problems?

Well believe it or not, the word "emo" has changed over time. On the one hand, "Emo" is the term to describe the Emotional Hardcore music genre, and on the other hand it is used to describe a fashion trend.

They're two completely different things, but they're generally accepted terms in today's society.

The most commonly used term for "emo" is the fashion trend, that is - young teenagers usually associated with being attention seekers and scenesters. You've seen the pics, you've seen them in real life, you know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, it's got nothing to do with what "emo" used to mean, (Emotional Hardcore), but like I said words change and develop new meanings over time, especially over the internet.

Though I agree that to an extent the word "emo" is used innappropriately - that is, "emo" is the new "gay".

Same thing. "Gay" used to mean happy, but now it means someone who is of the homosexual orientation. More recently, it's been used as a general insult. "Man, that music sounds gay" or "I can't believe we lost, that was gay", etc. It has nothing to do with homosexuality at all these days, the majority of the times it is used.

Just like how "emo" is used as an insult. It's taken on the same trend as "gay".
I didn't have a signature until now.

real men don't feel emotions or have problems, therefore we don't have to deal with problems. And if you think you are begining to have a problem, alcohol is always an excellent solution.
