Ya, for once I'm stumped for advice. My band just recruited a new member and he needs a new guitar. He has $400 max to spend (he currently has a BC rich pack warlock). I havnt looked at guitars for about this price in a while.

The main requirements are that it can play Goth Rock (like the 69 eyes 69 Eyes Devils video )

it is good quality

and it looks cool

I suggested the Schecter C1 Artist but its still a bit above his pr.

(i would preferr to buy it at Guit. Center too so I can talk the guys down)

Ya thanks in advance for the help fellas.

Meh, its not a genre, it just says that its rock but with a darker more gothic image/ sound laden twist. (altho i do think it might be a genre.....idk.)

$400?!?!?! That's an insanely low price for what you're asking, I have pretty much no clue.
Epiphone LP's are nice, I've played my friends and got a good variety of sounds out of it. But I'm not sure for goth rock...

Try a Schecter Hellraiser, I have no clue how much they are, but they are pretty nice. Don't think itll cost more than 400.

I don't own one, but from what I played on it it wasn't too bad, I got some good distortion out of it. The necks are pretty fast, the only problem I had with it was it buzzed a little when I palm muted, I duno if it was just me or something was wrong with the guitar. Overall it was pretty solid for a 300 - 500 dollar guitar.

Check these out. I cannot speak about the quality of any of these. They just have the price and the look for what you are going after. Maybe someone on here can tell you about the quality.

As for the Agile guitars listed at the Rondo urls, I have not played them, but some of the people on this board swear by them.

Hey, I would check out Ibanez, Jackson, B.C. Rich. I mean really it depends on the sound you want and the look you want. I have a Dearmond s73 that for me is awesome. It looks like an SG but it isn't. The horns are ofset a little. I do know a guy that is selling one for around 400 or so. I know you are not looking for an SG or explorer or V style but I thought I would see if I can help. Also check out Ed roman guitars. He has a great site with lots of information. They might be more expensive and stuff but he also might have some awsome deals for you.

I'd go with that Ibanez RG350EX, those are seksi, and I got some great distortion out of the one I played on. Watch the feedback though =\

Wow... I wouldn't pay 600 for that... I've never played HSS Strat's, but my friend lives by his.

Ya, deans are out, the main thing is he says he wants a "round" shape guitar (im guessing that means like LP's, strats, Schecters, stuff like that.) idk he keeps telling me different things, the main thing is he keeps sending me links to Epi. LP specials and studios.

I'm beginning to wonder why he got accepted into the band.....

The Schecter hellraiser is a guitar sent by god himself..

But duh, if they were actually less then 400 Schecter would put out of business other "metal" companies, the hellraiser is 650 and 800 with the OFR.

I think it wouldn't be too bad an idea to buy a cheap guitar with decent wood and put in a set of EMGs, my friend has a Epiphone Special SG and put in a 81/85 set and its pretty decent.
