So I'm looking into getting a new amp sometime, gonna get a job in the summer to get some dough, and I'm already saving up like 300+ already so price isn't to much of a problem but I'd like it to be 2000 most.

Anyways, I'm looking for an amp that has a good crisp clean channel and with a lot of distortion. Sort of a Metal to a Death metal distortion, any amp reccomendations?
I've looked into Peavey, Madison, Mesa Boogie but I'm not sure.

P.S. I'm using a ESP LTD EC-1000 with EMG's.

ESP LTD EC-1000
Epiphone Les Paul Special II
Line6 Spider II 75
Dunlop Crybaby 535Q

Mesa Boogie, defintaley look into that for your metal needs.

Maybe triple rectifier or a road king?

Please don't tell me I'm the only one that clicked this thread thinking I would learn how to make my guitar sound like a grizzly bear.

Thanks, I'll look into a Dual rectifier(Since it's the same thing as a Triple just less wattage).

But I hear it's lead channel isn't good for soloing.
Although, I've heard some people use it and it sounds just fine to me.

Yeah rectos arent the best for cleans... Check out some boutique amps. http://www.makoamplification.com/
Click on the sounds page once you get to this link.
the first 3 are amazing high gain metal tones then some in the second column have the best leads I have heard in a while. the dorado will run around 1650 I think. But if you are going to pay upwards of 1500, there are about a million amps you could choose from. Mesa, VHT, Engl, Bogner, Marshall, Genz-Benz....seriously man....just look everywhere you can. Sometimes the best stuff is the hardest to find.
Peavy 6505
