I want to start playing guitar and I need to get a guitar and amp
Looking on http://www.thomann.de I found a tube amp for £65(http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_ga5.htm) Is it a good idea to get a tube amp at this price or should I just find a normal amp?
Also is the guitar http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbms15sb_egitarre.htm any good? I don't mean good I just mean will it work for a while? (Please bear in mind I am extreamly short on cash, and will be for several months)

Amp is a bad idea. What's your budget?

Depends but I would preferably like to spend around £100 maximum on guitar and amp. I was looking at some cheap 'Vox' and 'Orange' amps are they better?

TBH all the smaller practise amps sound the same to me, none of them will give a very good distortion. So i'd say get a cheaper amp and a slightly more expensive guitar. For £150 you could get a cheaper ibanez like this http://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_grg170dx_mki.htm and i'm sure there are other similar ones. I've played the larger version of this amp in scholl and i really quite liked it nice and easy to use http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_frontman_15.htm.

EDIT: I see you have the boss overdrive anyway so you don't really need that good an amp do you?
