Ive always wondered are Maxon and Ibanez 2 completely different companies? Are they competitors? Or do they like work together on different types of products like the tubescreamer and stuff?

Maxon used to make Ibanez FX and then Ibanez took over prodution, and aloowed Maxon to make the pedals still under different names,

Current Naxon pedals are not the same as the Ibanez versions. With the TS9/OD9 for example; the Maxon has true bypass, but the Ibanez doesn't.

The Maxons are better. If you can get an original Maxon Tube Screamer then you'll probably have the best overdrive pedal you can ever find for it's purpose. Maxon made the FX for Ibanez with Ibanez taking over the names. It's like the original Crybaby being a Vox then Dunlop buying the rights to the name and producing their own. The current Maxon tube screamers are supposed to be excellent as well as their other effects.
