Im having some difficulty doing harmonics on my stock Ibanez RG321MH, is this a common problem or the infinity pickups or my technique?

Please advise.

Tapped harmonics? Pinch harmonics?

Tapped...give a light tap just over the fretwire 12 frets up from the one your finger is on.

Pinch...Turn your distortion up, put it in the bridge position and show some flesh to the string after you have picked it, experiement in different places on the string.

I usually almost use both my pickups while solong and with rhythm work. My gain is usually halfway do I need to turn it up even more?

Pinch Harmonics is what im really talking about here.

Turn up your gain, switch to the bridge pickup, and practise a lot. Pinch harmonics aren't easy. If you do a search, there should be some good lessons right here on Ultimate Guitar

pinch harmonics are just one of those things you have to practice untill you get it, new strings help, and ive found with a few low end guitars that harmonics are really hard to pull out, and then on some $3000 jacksons where you get a harmonic without even trying
