Music 123 is having a closeout on Washburn X-25 guitars. I believe this is one of those models made specifcially for Music123 and other mail orders.

A guy who I talk to on a tech forum mentioned to me that he had ordered a cheap Washburn, since he knows that I have an Idol, myself. As some background,
this guy is 31 years old and has been playing guitar for over 10 years. He admits
he's not great, but he's not completely inexperienced.

He got the guitar the other day and sounds VERY impressed with it for the
money. Said the quality, sound, and workmanship far exceeded his
expectations. I believe at one point he called it "Totally kick ass"
He said it puts out a nice metal sound.

He got the X25FRWA. Licensed Floyd Rose, Grover tuners, Basswood body.

There's also a non FR version. Obviously this isn't going to be your thing
if you're playing a high end guitar, but I've seen a lot of posts here asking
about a decent beginning guitar for short money.

Well, this seems to be one.

I agree I have a WI16 that I got for like 400 dollars two years ago and it's a beautiful sounding and playing guitar. Plays a lot easier than two high end strats I have played and also a moderately priced gibson les paul. great for a beginner, especially metalheads

lets make an emo song!!
first play same 2 power chords over and over
have a breakdown every 10 seconds
cry and whimper
dont forget the hair over one eye
and the depressing lyrics on how your teddy bear died!

I've got a Wi66, which was total overkill for my first electric. But, I was
looking at the Wi64DL's, and found my Wi66 on E-bay for only $450.00 US,
including a hard shell case.

It was a year old, but that's only $30.00 more than a brand new Wi64DL
was going to cost me!
