DO you have a tube or SS amp?

If it's tube and Ibanez tubescreamer would be cool.

Ibanez makes nice tubescreamers. But for a scant $40, you can buy one of those Digitech ones. Theres like 6 kinds: Blues, Hothead, Grunge, Death Metal, "Bad Monkey"... My friend has the grunge one and I must say it's worth the money.

some of the best OD pedals I know of. They all sound different so listen to clips and try em out before purchasing.

Analogman King of Tone- gl getting one, the wait list is HUGE. They occassionally sell on ebay but they go for hundreds over retail value.

Klon Centaur- another expensive but quality pedal

Landgraf (sp?) makes some good stuff so check them out

Analogman Tubescreamers with mods are nifty as well

Lovepedal has a few different types of pedals. I think the COT50/Eternity combo is delicious sounding.

Timmy OD pedal is another very popular pedal. I think Im gunna get my friend to buy one hehe.

I think this is a nice list for you to start with. Happy hunting.

I actually think I build the best, but like the last guy said it's a matter of taste. It's also a question of what amp and guitar you're using.

Try stuff. Listen to clips of things and compare.

It's all about getting the combinations that suit your taste and style.

Only the Bad Monkey is a proper OD out of those, the rest are distortion.

But the Bad Monkey is absolutely amazing. The harmony central reviews are right on the money.
The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.
