Ok basically I have the combo JCM 900 dual reverb. Although I am not unhappy with the tone I feel it could use some upgrades. For starters I am replacing all of the tubes and replacing the original 5881 tubes with E34L's which should help clean up some of the brittle tone of the amp.

Are there any really good mods for this amp? I know the distortion is brought about by diode clipping and I have heard of mods that completely bypass the diode circuit, creating a much more desirable distortion. How easily doable is this? I am not very experienced in modding and I don't want to kill myself. Are there any other fairly easy mods that really improve the tone of amp? Any help would be appreciated. (Also are there any sites people could point me to that have mods for this amp)
PM Me for any help you need with recording systems/tips
