Well I saw Hot Fuzz today, and I must say it is one of the best films I have ever seen in my life. I can't recall the last time I enjoyed a film so much, nor have I ever seen a shotgun toting grandmother dropkicked over a fence.

Fantastic.

Anyone else seen it?

I have to say, it completely out gores Shaun Of The Dead, and the humour is alot darker.

Hot Fuzz > Shaun Of The Dead.

I might venture to the cinema for the first time in over a year to see this movie.

I'm a massive fan of Simon & Edgar's work. I can't wait to see it. I'll probably see it over the next few days. Shaun of the Dead is the greatest film ever made as well as Spaced being the greatest sitcom ever made, so I have high hopes for Hot Fuzz.

I've never heard of this movie before, but if it's anything like Shaun of the Dead then I'd definately see it.

Indeed. I am "not just saying this" but if British cinema when done like that isn't the best, then well.. I'll be damned.

I've been actively encoraging just about everyone to see it, too.

Ah yes this film is hilarious.

The bit with the bolonaise (sp?) had me in stitches.

Also Bill Bailey is in it (twice ) so it must be good!

Another time I was watching lesbian porn and masterbating, when my mom walks in. Like, right as I climax. She's just standing there with her mouth wide open and I'm like "I was curious...go gay rights!" Fu.cking awkward...

Yeah, I saw it on Valentine's day with my girlfriend. She's a big fan of Shaun of the Dead, so I thought it'd be a nice treat.

And it was.

The old woman gettin drop kicked was hilarious. I'm still laughing at it now...

Seems twisted in some way....

im gonna see it again this saturday, because it managed to answer the question 'how do you top shaun of the dead?'. seriously, it was great up until he fly-kicked the 80 year old woman over the fence, and from there on it was godly. the storming somerfield scene was classic

'nothing like a bit of girl on girl action!'

In the trailer, they have that "Haven't you ever taken a shortcut before" SOTD reference.

Is the movie already out in the UK? I dont' think it's supposed to come out over in N America until April...

I went to see it on Saturday and it definitely lived up to my expectations. It's not as good as SOTD, but I was never expecting it to be. Hot Fuzz is packed full of slick directing, homages, self-references and reoccurring jokes. Plus, the juxtaposition of Hollywood action in a small English countryside was hilarious. Also, they didn't cheapen any of the horror elements, which I loved. I can't wait to see it again. As I've always said, when Simon and Edgar get together, they make masterpieces.
