Ive already made another thread on this but i didnt really get a clear answer....Does the Marshall Dsl 401 have a compressed enough sound to do shred? Because ive tried a Randall and other good tube amps like devilles and stuff (i know they're for blues) and i started sweeping and stuff and it just sounded like crap. There was so much feedback and it sounded like a mess. And it wasnt because my sweeps were sloppy because they've sounded awesome on other amps so it was the amp.

Also ill be using a delay with the amp so it'll probobly sound a lot better.
So can the 401 do shred?

i've had my eye on the mesa boogie line, my price range is under $600.

maybe you could buy a picture of one for 600, and just pretend for awhile...

Well the fender wont, because you only buy fender for cleans.. Well I say try it out before you buy! It should so but thats what I think!

well its 40 watts going through like 100 capable tubes
so it will be tight
but ive never tested it on one ofthese

I wouldn't recommend it if shred is all you play.

You could probably get away with asking for a 'shred amp' in the shred forum, and if you did you would get a much better response than in here.
