I loved the theory involved in the whole thing. It wasn't just a book that he wrote from his head. He needed to learn things such as battle tactics. Also, if you read into the series, it gets less action oriented, and more story oriented. I felt like i had come to know the characters, and what happened to them meant something to me.

Why, you didn't like it? or didnt read it?

EDIT: Plus, it fucking rocks.

It's Hannibal and yes I am a very big fan of the character, but also of the books. Harris' written style is simply amazing.

I should really include other literary works I enjoy, and these are:

John O'Hara's collection of short stories (best I have ever read)
Jean-Paul Sartre: Huis Clos in particular, although Les Mains Sales and Les Mouches are also impressive
George Orwell: Nineteen EightyFour
Lionel Shriver: We Need To Talk About Kevin
Stephen King: The Green Mile
William Golding: Lord of the Flies
Samuel beckett: Waiting For Godot (A MUST-read for everyone!)

Agreed. His Xanth series is really awesome, too.

I plan on reading the Discworld series soon by Pratchett.
