Alright, we're making dream bands. Here's the Rules.

Be original. just because everyone is saying Hendrix as guitarist doesnt mean you have to.

Theres not a set way to make your band but you do have to have at least one singer, one guitarist and one drummer.

You also have to name the band that the person is in, if you know.

Alright have fun and here's mine.
Singer: Freddy Mercury (Queen)
Backup Singer: Steven Tyler (Aerosmith)
Drummer: Neal Peart (Rush)
Bassist: John Paul jones (Led Zeppelin)
Guitarist One: Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen)
Guitarist Two: Yngwie Malmsteem ( Yngwie Malmsteem)
Guitarist Three: Slash (Guns N' Roses)
Guitarist Four: Neal Schon (Journey)
Guitarist Five: Tom Scholz (Boston)

mine would probably go something like:

Dio, Rob Halford (priest), or Bruce Dickenson (Maiden) on vocals
Van Halen, Rhoads, or Dimebag on guitar
Bonham, Ulrich, or Vinnie Paul (pantera) on drums
and probably Cliff Burton on bass.

Underoath's Timothy McTague onGuitar 1

Most of these bands would sound awful. Hendrix, SRV, Malmsteen and EVH all together? There all very "individual" guitarist used to having it all to theselves....

Meg White + Jimi Hendrix!

I'm goin to cheat and put two

Band 1

Vocals and Three string Trance Wonder: Seasick Steve
Guitar:Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)
Bass: John Entwhistle (The Who)
Drums: Ginger Baker (Cream)

This should give a nice blusey feel, Seasick Steve is a Howling Wolf-esque vocalist. Baker is technically accomplished enough to keep up with any of the other guys, and Entwhistle just rules

Band 2

Vocals: Michael Stipe (R.E.M)
Flute: Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull)
Guitar: Johnny Marr (The Smiths)
Bass: Jack Bruce (Cream)
Drums: Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac)

This band would have a TOTALLY unique sound, I tried to get all the member from slightly off beat bands, Bruce seemingly being the odd one out, but lets remember Pressed Rat and Warthog, plus he wrote the riff to Sunshine of Your Love.
Zeppelinism Extremist, PM TheHeartbreaker to join

Guitar 1 Paul Gilbert (Racer X, Mr Big)
Guitar 2 Yngwie Malmsteen (solo)
Bass John Alderete (racer x, The mars volta)
Drums Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater)
Vocals Phil Anselmo (pantera)
2005 Ibanez RG1570
1998 Ibanez RG7620
1998 Mesa 2 Ch. Dual Rec
#18
Singer 1 : Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode - great frontman, wouldn't let him near writing though)
Singer 2 : Chris Martin (Coldplay - would be co-writer)
Singer 3 : Kurt Cobain (Nirvana - He would be the chief songwriter)
Guitar Lead: The Edge (U2)
Guitar Rythym : Slash (Guns N Roses)
Guitar 3: Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana)
Bass: Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers)
Drums : Phil Collins (Genesis, Solo)

Name: The Magnificent Eight

3 guitarists, 3 Singers, Bass and Drums. And the collective writing output would be class too, especially with those guitarists.
always in the poo, only the depth changes

I think he blows. He does nothing impressive, strums the bass like a guitar, and can't stand still for more than 2 seconds.

Anyways, my band:

Vocals: Thom Yorke (Radiohead)
Guitar One: Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead)
Guitar Two: David Gilmour (Pink Floyd)
Bass: Roger Waters (Pink Floyd)
Keys: Richard Wright (Pink Floyd)
Drums: Phil Selway (Radiohead)

Band shall be called Radiofloyd.

EDIT: Matthew Good can chill with them too.

Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

Piano/Guitar/Vocals: John Lennon
Piano/Guitar/Vocals: Thom Yorke

I could see this band as something like Broken Social Scene...there would brilliant songwriting and musicianship, and I would make sure no one tried to hog the spotlight.

There have already been 1,348,856,584,947,675,589 and a half threads with this exact topic... it's getting old.

2. Plus this thread doesn't belong in here, it belongs in the bands and artists forum.

3. Either way, there's already an "only your dream band" thread, so don't bother making a new one. It's stickied there, just so you know.

that's pretty much a mix of Dream Theater and Circus Maximus - that would be one hell of a band, not only due to the skill level, but of the chemistry
