After years of being such an individual band in the power metal division, it is now that ive bothered myself to listen to them.

Most of you probably already heard them, but to who hasnt just listen to:

Spread Your Fire

Enjoy!

- Treat people the way you would like to be treated.
- Don't do to others what you wouldn't like others to do to you.
- Live and let live.
- Always tell the truth.
- If someone looks at you, just give them a nice smile they won't soon forget

I'm a big fan. I love all of their albums and even though I have a hard time getting itno the new one, i know it has potential.

My favs: Angels Cry and Fireworks (love Metal Icarus)

Edit: Temple of Shadows is one of their best also (and yes I realize I named half of their albums).
I'm entitled to double post, so fück off!!!

yep, been a fan of them for a long time, Fireworks is a damn fine album I must say
but Temple Of Shadows is my favourite (even Blind Guardian's Hansi Kürsch featured)
I’m not the man I used to be, I... I can’t go back to Arkham.

I... I should return to Arkham.

Among the churchyard’s mouldering stones I recognise a name – my own.
I have come home to Arkham.

I just love how Hansi starts off that song, his voice is amazing and Edu's vocals blend well with his'.

And Andre Matos also has a killer voice, I think his best job is on Fireworks (love how that album ain't typical and has a small exotic feel to it).

^not to forget Kai Hansen on The Temple Of Hate
oh and Winds Of Destination just happends to be my favourite Angra song

Lisbon off Fireworks is one of my fav power ballads of all time

and while I prefer Temple Of Shadows as my fav album, I still like André Matos over Eduardo

I used to listen to Angra when I was in my powermetal phase. I own all their work. But as said above, I hardly bother to listen to them anymore, I just skip them when they come on my mp3 player

hell yeah, Temple of Hate is one of the best song on that album.

And I also prefer Matos to Edu, but I don't think Angra could have found a better replacement for Matos than Edu. The immense lineup change affected the group's style, but in a good way.

One thing I don't understand though is Edu's vocals on the last album. He never goes high or anything as he would do on previous albums.

I downloaded it and I really like it. Next time I'm at the music store I'm buying it. Thanks for the suggestion. This is some of the best power metal I've heard in a while. I almost like them as much as Jag Panzer, and I like Jag Panzer a lot.

*shudders*

On topic, they are ok some songs are a bit too cheesy (like wuthering heights and most of angels cry) yet i like Rebirth and Temple of Shadows quite a bit, i guess i just dont like Andre Matos vocals.

Also they are extremely popular here in Brazil, even people who dont like metal like Angra.

I just started downloading them about a week ago, due to dial-up i only have 9 songs but there pretty damn good.
Soon you will sit on the bench
of those who deny I have my soul
You sell a dream you create
Condemned by what you condemned before
Smooth are the words you sing down and high
Underground is your joy your laws

I find the singers a bit cheesy at times but the guitar work is amazing. If you like this I think you'll also like this.
#27
Carry on... What a song... The band is great.
I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.
#29
Nova Era, what a damn song, I love the symphonic intro, in fact I would that you people should enjoy the intro of that album followed by Nova Era to add the spirit. An amazing song! The violins at the intro are so fucking ownage!

Go and listen to it now!

...(yes Im listening to it right now, need to share my emotions)

Ive really been into them lately. Theyre sooo ****ing good. Kiko Loureiro is a god.

Angra is amazing, and pretty much my favorite band. Nova Era is pretty much the most ****ing amazing song I've ever heard.

Kiko Loureiro is just amazing. I'm just damn thankful I was able to see him live (and he played the instrumental Nova Era!). Aurora Consurgens was great, can't wait for their next album.
#32
I love the classical symphony intro on Angels Cry and then into Carry On. Evil Warning is my fav by them. The part where they use winter is awesome
