i saw a band make a button on their myspace, where if you click it, you get taken to a page to post a bulletin, and the content for the bulletin is already all filled out with certain text. i viewed the page source but that didnt help. could somebody please tell me how to do this?

thanks.

Well for that it takes a external website. they used something most likely like this <a href="www.somethingelse.com">CLICK HERE TO POST BULLETIN</a> they didnt use myspace as it. and on the external website needs to have javascript because to do something where it opens that up you need to be logged in to myspace then it just uses your friend id code and other things to do it. its more than just HTML.

Alright if you want it to be a picture or something upload it to imageshack or something it should give you an url for the pic then put

<a href="http://yourURL.com"><img src="URL from IMageshack"></a> and that should do it. Myspace does allow links but they only word if you put http://

Just a little info "myspace" has nothing to do with the HTTP:// in the urls. because when you dont have the HTTP://. Html Automatically puts the main folder(www.myspace.com/)in the link already. so if you put this <a href="Http://www.ultimate-guitar.com">click here</a> <-- that will take you to ug's homepage. unlike this
<a href="www.ultimate-guitar.com">click here</a> <-- that will take you to www.myspace.com/www.ulitmate-guitar.com. which isnot a url. just to let you know Myspace has no control over the HTTP://(Hyper text transfer protocol). i know im such a dork

he does't mean that, he means like if you go to someone's myspace page there can be a button which when you press it takes you to the "confirm post bulletin" page so you end up posting bulletins you never intended to.

Alright I used to nkow how to do it but I kind of forgot cos personally I don't like it. I found it off some site (http://urpimp.com/auto-bulletin-repost-button)

<div align=center><style type=text/css>.mypimpspacedotcom {display:none; visibility:hidden;}</style></form><form name="bulletinForm" action="http://bulletin.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bulletin.confirm" target="_self" method="POST"><input type="hidden" name="groupID" value="0"><span class="mypimpspacedotcom"><input type="hidden" name="subject" value="Bulletin Subject" size="1" maxlength="50"><textarea name="body" type="hidden" style="width: 0px; height: 0px;">Text for the bulletin goes here <p align=right><a href="http://www.urpimp.com/auto-bulletin-repost-button">Get a Auto-Bulletin Post Button<a><a href="http://www.urpimp.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.urpimp.com/img/button.gif" style="position:absolute; left:0px; top: 0px;" border="0"></a></TEXTAREA></span><br><input type="submit" class="button" value="Button Text"></form></div><br /><div align=right><a href=http://www.urpimp.com/auto-bulletin-repost-button>Auto Bulletin Button @ Myspace Layout Codes</a></div><a href="http://www.urpimp.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.urpimp.com/img/button.gif" style="position:absolute; left:0px; top: 0px;" border="0"></a>

you'll probably want to get rid of the awful banners and promote link at the bottom though... but I can't be bothered to read through the code and work out which bit is is to delete, do it yerself
