It all depends on your guitar/amp really. Anyone can give you the settings they use for a slash tone and it would sound totally different on your setup. You'll just have to play around with the settings until you find the sweet one

I looked at his gear when I made my consideration. I have a Gibson LP and a Spider II and can get a Slash-ish tone out of it by doing what I said Usually on the metal channel with the gain at about 4-6. A big part of Slash' tone particularly on Sweet Child o; Mine is the Neck pup with the tone knob rolled back.

yea used to do that on the metal channel but then decided for a ds-2 for a better tone as it was reccomend for me.
