The Ashdown Electric Blue 15-180 bass amp says its got 180w but from what people tell me, you don't really get that much from it. How much watts will be produced without a cab?

Also for $50 more I can get its upgrade thats 300w. How much watts will accually be produced without a cab with this? Would it be worth the extra money?

Here are their links

Actually, the 300W amp is $120 dollars more. The Electric Blue ships free, the MAG costs $70 to ship. Plus, with the MAG, you need 2 cabs to get the full 300 watts, otherwise, you get 185 (I think).

With that said, I would go with the MAG, if you can afford it.

I think its safe to say its true for all speakers, that you never get the exact wattage promised.
