i love tender surrender

it starts all calm..then builds up to be this huge crazy guitar solo filled with so much emotion it makes you want to cry...

plus you can have sex to the rythym of it

EDIT: also the great gig in the sky is really amazing too

Well alright. The only real alternative IMO is Air from Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major by Bach. Beautiful.

i'd have to say little wing. Some dream theater stuff is amazing as well.

I dunno whether to consider this an instrumental or not...it's a medley:

Deadly Sting Suite/He's a Woman, She's a Man/Dynamite by Scorpions and Berliner Philharmoniker

And Call Of Ktulu

The kings of the instrumental are Pink Floyd, and their best are

Atom Heart Mother (Actually scares me when i listen to it )
Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-4
Great Gig In The Sky

lol @ all the metallica songs.

It's a tough one so I can't really choose but I really like this classical song by Edvard Grieg, his Peer Gynt suite no. 1, op. 46

I like any colour you like by pink floyd. Its just so laxed and chill. Green onions is a good one as well but i like any colour a little better.
EDIT: YYZ by rush is really good as well. Id probably rate it right w/ any colour if not a little higher.

Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy
This may be my favourite piece of music ever. Transcendent.

Blue in Green by Miles Davis
The best off of the phenomenal album "Kind of Blue," a must-own for anyone who claims to like good music (or so I believe, anyway).

New World Symphony (3rd Movement) by Antonin Dvorak
The 2nd Movement is better, but I couldn't find it. This one is the next best.
Can't stop the signal.

Tons of jazz songs need to be mentioned as well, but I'm too lazy.

That's because its one of the best classical pieces ever created, asshole.

My favorites are:
Altitudes by Jason Becker
Flute Concerto no. 1 in G major by Mozart
Salt in the Wound by Marty Friendman

I love classical music. My mom is ****ing awesome in the piano so naturally I grew up to love it. It goes hand in hand with my love for metal and neoclassical as well.

I get weird looks on the bus sometimes because for one minute I'm listening to Mozart's Lacrymosa and the next it's Judas Priest - Painkiller.

Classical is also magical when you're stoned. It just makes the experience so ****ing beautiful, and as you said, transcending.

Maybe, alls im saying is that everyone says that when they are asked about classical music. Classical has one of the largest catalogs of music ever, its stupid to pick the one pecie that is used on adverts over and over and over.

Oh here's another Pearl Jam instrumental (found as a secret track on Binaural). Beautiful, especially when the heavier drums come in.

Yeah, but for the people who listen to Classical music on a more regular basis, it's the equivelant of a non-rock fan saying "Stairway to Heaven" is the best Rock song of all time. It's all opinion sure, but it's fuckin' annoying and undermines your opinion.

Anyway, I'll go with Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings or GY!BE's East Hastings.

I assume you mean modern piece of music without vocals, otherwise it's a different story if we're including the classical shiz
