...on my build. I'm using a LP Body, its made out of Basswood and a Mahogany back. I need help with the finish, I'm painting the sides and the back black, the front will be finished with a Stain. I sanded it already with 150 grit sandpaper.I need a clear coat maybe Acrylic, but I need your help and suggestion on what to buy on both paint, clear coat, and stain.

Here are a few pictures:

If I were you I would keep the black just see-thru enough that you can still see the grain of the wood on the front.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't read your post very good, your just staining the front, that should look really cool. As for the sides and back, you should keep the black a bit see-thru.

I hate how they do that veneer on the back. It looks so out of place.

It's a Saga kit, and they cost something like 200 USD

Blah, you beat me to it.

Sagas are great, I love mine, it's not a bad guitar at all.

Good luck, I can't wait to see the end product!
Main gear (For complete list, see profile):
Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plain-top
Basswood Telecaster, 2 single-sized HB's, both split.
Epiphone Valve Junior

Oh, and I have a Squier VM Jazz Bass too.

Give it a sunburst. That'll make it look good. Oh and you're best to change the tuners, I've heard the tuners from Saga kits suck.

Well, where are they? Are they any deeper than the rest of the guitar? What did you do to that area before you noticed the spots? What's that thing next to the spots?

It's pretty hard to find someone as hardcore as Tom. The race for hardcore supremacy would be pretty close but i think Tom's got his nose just in front for now...

Near where the saddle, no right on top, sanded it then wiped it off with a shirt, its where the volume/tone pots are , the holes are stuffed with newspaper sealed with masking tape, its starting to dry now BTW.

What's starting to dry?

You may want to try using a damp cloth.

The stain, its too late now its been about 16 hours since i applied it, i think i can just sand it and apply the 2nd coat.

Oh, it's stain? That would've been helpful to know before hand. That's just spots where the stain is more concentrated. You'll either have to sand it out, or scrape it off.
