I wanted to get a little more into rap, and was wondering if there was any suggestions.

dont tell me any current rap, because it all phails.

i know i like rage against the machine, beasty boys, and public enemy.

is their anyone else like any of them, that sing about issues, and not bling and bitches?

Fort Minor... Kanye, but I can't stand his attitude.

The only good rap song I know, is that one 'Thugz Mansion' where Tupac raps to an acoustic guitar. I was both impressed, and amazed by it.

Blasphamy!!!!!! I wasn't aware of the existence of so called "good rap".....

Don't close yourself off from current rap, many deeper tracks actually have pretty deep lyrics....

Anyway, I recommend Tupac and some Eminem.

See, the problem why you cant find "good new rap" is because there is none.

That's pretty much what defines good or bad rap

What's so bad about a little bling and bitches here and there?

Yeah the rap most popular among people who like rock music is probably Wu-Tang Clan, Jedi Mind Tricks and Immortal Technique. Download:

Wu-Tang Clan: C.R.E.A.M., Triumph, A Better Tomorrow
Immortal Technique: Peruvian Cocaine, Dance with the Devil, Bin LAden (remix)
Jedi Mind Tricks: Heavenly Divine, On The Eve Of War (Meldrick Taylor Mix), I Against I

Check out these albums, if you don't listen to them already.

Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die OR Life After Death
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
Bone Thugs N Harmony - Creepin On Ah Come Up
2Pac - Greatest Hits (the one from like 1998 on Death Row)

STFU and GTFO. There is PLENTY of good hip-hop (not rap) out there. You just need to know where to look. For example:

Jurassic 5
The Roots
Sage Francis
Aesop Rock
Blackalicious
Gym Class Heros

THat should be enough to get you started.
Last night I played a blank tape at full volume. The mime next door went crazy.

Shook Ones pt. 2 by Mobb Deep
Infinite by Eminem
Dead Presidents II by Jay Z
Down For Whatever by Ice Cube

Infinite is the single best display of lyrical ability I've ever heard in a rap song.

Cypress Hill are pretty good. Fort Minor at least doesn't sing about bling.

make sure to check out the Good Rap thread in the Others forum, and don't listen to Fort Minor. Mike Shinoda couldn't rap his way out of his own ears
