im trying to learn to play funk and i was wondering if ne1 new basic soloing riffs for funk that i could use to practice and eventually make my own riffs?

im having the same dilemma... ive been listening to alot of rhcp, hendrix, and some jazz (like jaco pastorious and the weather report)

listening to bass lines are helping me get the feel for it...

Can't so I know too much, but I find alot of good funk solos have lots of staccato notes, muted chords, and alot of chord based licks, like adding hammer ons and pull offs to chords. Not to mention bend two strings at a time.
Always fun to add a bit of wah to sexify it up a notch too!
