Cathy sits and looks at the paper
Staring and blinking at a pretty picture
With flowers, houses, family in front
Reads C minus in big bold font

She tried so hard that it moved her to tears
As she heard the voices from the rear
She ran from the room door slammed behind her
Nobody moved or went after

And Cathy it's okay
We all have our days
Second grade won't be so bad
Again..

Cathy eats alone
Looks out on the world
As the kids laugh and chat
She looks so sad

She sits on the playground
And does what she could
Draws a picture in the sand
She could not understand

And Cathy it's okay
We all have our days
Second grade won't be so bad
Again..

I know you gave it all you had
As you sat for hours at your desk
I'm oh so sorry it turned out like this
But when you're gone, it's me you'll miss

Into summer school will you go
As you face the demons down below
And many years that it will take
To dry the tears running down your face
But-

Cathy it's okay
We all have our days
Second grade again won't be so bad
Again...
So don't let me see no tears
Cause it's only been thirty years
Second grade won't be so bad
Again...

I'm not sure why noones replied to this yet. Its good! It kind of reminds me of Louise by Leo Kottke. This is a great song, not perfect, but still right up there. I dont have anything specific to crit because I couldn't find anything specifically wrong with it. I guess thats a compliment
