First off, is there any particular reason you want actives? And what amp do you have?

oh i got a vox AD30VT a decent enough amp and i want Active p-ups cos what i've heard they are great for metal, Metallica use them too.

you need a tube amp for active pups to really sound good, id just get some high output passives.

I dunno about actives on a modelling amp - my instincts tell me it wouldn't like them that much, but someone'll know for definite. TBH you'd just be better off gettting a better amp though.
