I have a LTD Viper-50.

And everything on it has been going good for a while.

Until I recently noticed that when I play about 3rd fret on high E, it gives a dull scratchy sound.?

Anybody know what the problem is?

probleable just that the string is a little low there. isnt clearing the fret.

u can raise it if u want.

EDIT: looks like a TOM bridge...

loosen the screw on top of each bridge post. that will loosen the thumbscrews underneath. pointed to by red arrows. raise up the bridge a little, then tighten it all up again.

sometimes it helps to loosen the strings a little first.

just the 3rd particular fret? or 4-above is the same?

check your neck relief to see that its proper. If its ok, then you probably need to adjust your action.

meh, i wouldnt adjust the neck for one string. but yes, it's probably a high fret.

another option is too lightly tap that fret, if it's high on one end. but an over tap can mush the fret, flat and cause more problems.
