K i have an epiphone g400 which i bought from guitar center in august. I realise that I cannot trade it back for the full price but I havent damaged it and it looks brand new. I want to get a standard strat instead so how much do you guys think i will have to pay?

GC will give u about 10-20% less than half of the new retail price.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

The SG G-400's have dropped in price from $399 to $299 new, so expect even less for it now.

GC also doesn't take many lower end guitars in trade, and to them, low end is most things below $500, so there is a chance they wont take it at all.

Best bet is to list it here or on Craigs List or even ebay. I myself am eyeing one, so drop me an email at kstarnicky@yahoo.com if you don't get a good trade amount from GC.
