ok cool, cuz there easy, but i just didnt know. i thaught there were only two types, and then i saw pinch harmonic and was like wtf?
theres artificial/pinch harmonics and natural harmonics i think
A pinch is an artificial harmonic but an artificial harmonic doesn’t necessarily have to be pinched. There are other ways of making artificial harmonics such as tapped. Once you get the right technique down you should be able to pull off an A.H. on every fret and every string.
Natural harmonics occur at certain intervals along the length of the strings. Some of the more common ones are found over the 3rd, 5th, 7th and 12th frets. These intervals are called nodes. One of my personal favs is 5th fret on the G string and if you want a real squeeler engage the whammy bar aswell.
Dave Mustain has wrote some of the most amazing solos...
That he can't actually play!
pretty much the same.. but there's more than one way of doing an artificial harmonic..
