Hi, I have a new song I finished called "The Waiting". I am still very much a newbie at this but I would like some feedback and constructive criticism. I am not a shredder or a technically gifted player but I try my best to convey emotion through my playing. I know this may not be everyone's cup of tea but please give it a few verses to settle in. Thanks

that's a really nice song, really like that background string that pops up in the beginning. And the part where the guitar get that delay and flanger(?), that was pretty cool. Really good blues licks all around, and real professional sounding.

take a look at mine if you have a minute:

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to listen. I still have a lot to learn but at any rate I am having a fun with it.

this is some good work, except at times i felt like i was watching a sears commercial. but good for you for writing a song like this. and the quality is very good

I like it! I don't think is blues, some blues in it for sure. I think the drums should come up a bit. The recording is warm and sound good. You got a great sound from that acoustic and the performance was good

I really liked this song, too. It reminds me of your apparent idols, pink floyd a little. It sounds very well-recorded and the soloing is pretty bluesy. I like the violins or whatever that is in the background (synth?). Anyways... I thought it was really cool. Keep it up. Mind critting mine? https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=522091
I like the echo solo, too, btw.

I know it's not everyone's taste. I probably should not have said it was a blues style song. I love the blues but I write more of an experimental blues style. I try to infuse blues based licks or progressions into all my songs. Since Sears is a household name I will take that as a back door compliment.

I have only been playing a few years and I know I do not have any flash or technical proficiency. My hope is that the listener gets a good vibe. I can't really explain it but I write music to try and express emotion. Anyway, I am glad that you took the time to listen and thanks for the feedback.

Loved it
What do you use to make the background? Do you use any program or is it recorded in a studio (and if so do you play all instruments)?

Excellent!

Cheers to making a very tight, professional and inspiring song!
Your acoustic lead came out very nice. I find that to be one of the more difficult things to record well. Simply out, you did an excellent job. Superb!
