I'm pretty sure your local genito-urinary medicine clinic can do you a plagiarism test for $20.

It was love at first sight
When you looked into those eyes
You could see this one so clearly
But you could never compromise
For once you’ve held that feeling
It will haunt you in your sleep
You can take it as a warning
For when you wake up in the morning
And your loneliness is twice as deep

It could’ve been so perfect
Together growing old
But now you’re left with a love that never got a chance to show
And you’re still wondering why
She kept passing you bye
I guess you’re not supposed to know

Shes the one that made you feel alive
She caused a burning deep inside
She snuck into your dreams at night
The brightest star she’ll always shine

Its time to move on with your life
Keep better thoughts in your mind
And remember that the grass is greener on the otherside

There IS a website... I had to use it last year for submitting my essays to my profs... damned if I can remember what it's called though... if I find it again, I'll post it.

Did you miss the part where I posted a link to the exact song you posted? All I'm sayin is, if that isn't you, then you did rip it off.

How did you not rip off that song? It is the same word for word.

ok, i guess i "ripped it off"
i've never heard the song
and the version i posted was a little different, all the same words, but there was some stuff added and some different words
because i originally didnt have my poem typed, so i just typed a brief one out of memory

EDIT: haha i dont even have a basement

Well why are you trying to argue it to us on an internet forum, who you'll never see? Hand it in; we've already proved there's a song with the exact same lyrics; we're not the people you have to convince that it's original. If your teacher helped you write it then he or she will know that it's your work, although I highly doubt it is.
