once i get money i'm going and buying a cheap used squire and customizing the body and giving it new paint, pickups. well.. pretty much the only thing i am keeping on it is the body, fretboard and neck. it will be used for classic rock ONLY. any suggestions for what kind of pickups i should put it? and what i should model it after? its going to be a bit radical but still has to stay "classic rock".

thanks

Make the body look beat up.

For pickups, go for Little 59's by Seymour Duncan.

as much as i hate squires, this sounds liek a pretty good idea, i'd go for it....its not gonna cost that much... but i think it'd be cool to do it VAN HALEN style: beat up

exactly what i mean.... but arent 59's humbuckers? he's gonna have to cut the body if thats the case....yeah if it is a HB then i'd go for the 59' in bridge and leave the other two single coils from the strat...
