I'm trying to get an internet connection to my computer downstairs. I have a a Wireless-G Broadband Router and it has a couple of jacks for cables (not the phone kind) and I need a really long cable.

So what do you want?

If your new computer has a wireless card, plug the router in and use the internet from the other computer wirelessly.

Why do you need a long cable? Where your bband cable currently plugs into your comp, send it into the router first and then the comp.

How are these wireless cards? I want the internet to be pretty fast cause I game a lot.

If you get a good card it shouldnt matter. But when you get a wireless network make sure to put WEP on it or else other people will be able to connect and basically jack your internet connection.
