What are the best sweeping shapes to learn, i have been using the pick n' grin video but what are the most essential shapes to learn for common playing? I have just started sweeping and am coming along pretty well.
Thanks in advance.
Major, minor, and diminished. From there you can change certain notes to the next note in the scale and things to give it flavor.
Well personally I only rarely use them but pretty much everyone uses arpeggios for sweeping at least once. To be honest I don't know much about them so I can't like tab out a shape for you but you can google it. I like to use modes to sweep. I have a sweep in one of my band's songs that uses a G# locrian sweep (we play in C#) and it sounds pretty nifty.
We're only strays.
