WOW. that sounds unclean. Nut pickups.

It would be a piezo, and i don't know how it would sound.

Yeah, sounds like a bitch to wire. I'm guessing it's some kind of piezo that would fit under the nut. You would most likely have to remove the nut and route a channel for it to fit in. The fretboard may have to come off to run the wiring. Just a guess?

you could do it behind the neck, or just plug the jack into the headstock. sounds pointless IMO.

"individual outputs for each string pickup" how did they pull that off?

It can be done with peizos, I believe. It's usually done with a special pickup. Someone on the forum made a pickup like that.

That would be cool, but you'd have to wire it down the neck. But how...

wiring under the fretboard, but it would be a bitch to replace.... how small can a piezo pup be? individual output could be done by using 6 piezos... but I find it too complex

Actually, a piezo pickup can be ridiculously small.

It wouldnt work, the strings are vibrating on the other side. Plus, you would have to wire it through the neck. And I agree with whoever said WTF BEARD TRIMMINGS!?
#17
It doesn't seem that hard, my acoustic/electric has a pickup imbedded underneath the bridge, and with piezos, it doesn't seem that difficult. But yea, the wiring would be a bitch.

I would assume that the wikipedia page is wrong, and that they meant a piezo bridge pickup, on account that you'd have to pick the other part of the strings (between your left hand fingers and the nut) and the frets wouldn't be at correct places, so every note would be out of tune, thus sounding crap.

I've never heard the man's music, though. If it's some weird kinad music, it might be a nut pickup.

The nut pickup doesn't have to be on the bridge to pick up signals if it's piezo. Really, it'll pick up any vibrations even if it is in the nut. It would sound pretty weird/muffled though.

well, i suppose you could just take off the fretboard and run the wires underneath, the concept is the same as the bridge piezo pickups they make. good luck finding a suitable pickup though, ive never came across one, not even on the internet

Yeah, this guy has some weird music alright. I'm pretty sure the wikipedia page is right, just from listening to the stuff, or at least, I'd believe it.

^ Not to mention the page from the luthier who built the guitar SAYS it's a peizo strip under the nut.
