I hear the Epi LP Plaintop sounds better then the other "standard one, because the Plaintop doesn't have alder in it. If you don't know which ones I'm talking about, here.

Or, there is the custom, but I don't know if that's solely cosmetic, or if the sound is beter to. http://tinyurl.com/2685g3

there's a 100 dollar difference between each going down, so there must be some difference, but I'm not sure if it's cosmetic or what. I didn't know the wood in electric guitars mattered.

I think the tone in teh custom is "fatter" in a way. But half of that reason is because my amp is real bassy. But there is a slight tonal difference. I havent actually tried teh Ep Custom. But I do own teh elitist version which is better tone than all the normal lines. But there is slight difference in all those guitars.
Guitars:
Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Custom WCR and Dimarzio equipped
Amp:
Marshall 2266 Vintage Modern
Marshall 1960TV
Effects:
Dunlop Crybaby From Hell

For some reason, I feel like crunching up a bag of peanuts after reading your post. I think its because you purposely use "teh" in every sentence. It is "teh" annoying as fu***** hell.
