Title is kinda miss leading, couldnt think of a better title...sry

But what i wanna know is, what do people mean when they say 12 gauge? or 13 gauge?

Is that the lowest string size in the pack? Cuz I know what 42-12 means. It means 42 is the fattest and 12 the skinniest right?

But what does a 12 gauge mean? or 13 or w.e...

What would be the gauge of 56 to 16. cuz thats what i have on my guitar....Yea i love fat strings...the heavier the better for palm muting lol

when people say 12's or 13's, they are talking about the gauge of the high E string. .10-.46 are considered the regular size strings, so use that as a guideline on whether or not u want to go thinner or thicker.

That. It is also the diameter of the string, if that helps you understand.
