Well i was listening to Knights Of Cydonia by Muse, and i really like that back rhythm style. i dont quite know how to describe it, but if you've ever heard the song, id like to know more songs with that kind of style to it.

Iron Maiden's Powerslave has a similar triplet-based galloping rhythm.

The guitar has no effects there, it's just vibrato and trem. picking!

It's just a bollocks ripoff of Thin Lizzy's Emerald. Listen to the outro riff, and tehn listen to Emerald's main bridge-riff. Pretty much the exact same thing, except Thin Lizzy doesn't have that whiney-arsed high pitched tosser wailing over the microphone.

The whole song is a tribute to Telstar by The Tornados. Matt Bellamy's dad was rhythm guitarist.

Perhaps, but to me, it sounds like a tremelo pedal.

Also, maybe a little phasing and even a rotary speaker isn't out of the question.

I can safely say from live experience its all whammy bar. Not sure if hes tremolo picking and using the wiggle stick or if hes just picking occasionally. God hes spectacular
