My third finger just canNOT do the flat knuckle bend to get all 3 of the strings (2nd-4th) AND not mute the first string.

It's definately a physical limitation, what should I do about it?

the flat knuckle bend method is much harder for a lot of people than just using you're other three fingers. Try using them!

+1. I can't do it with the flattened 3rd finger either. Do it with the three fingers instead.
