I know it's been said to death, but if you sit down and watch The Exorcist and absorb everything about it, that movie is brilliant and terryifying. There's so much in that movie my head spins when I think about.
Poor advice.

What I personally find really scary are some HP Lovecraft stories, the scariest one to me is "The Rats In The Walls". I love how Lovecraft makes a merely gothic story absolutely terrifying in the last couple of lines, like in one where it goes "You fool, warren is dead!"

well i have to admit that watching the blair witch project was pretty fuking scary lol especially on your own. i didnt go to the woods for a month afterwards... but watching films in groups is like proper funny cos theres always one person that gets shit scared cos they think that someone's gonna turn into a zombie and bite their head off LMAO

And make sure you check out the complete version "The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen". It was the original that they forced editing on because of the subliminal stuff. It's really awesome.

I love horror films and I have seen hundreds.... Event horizon is the only one that's had me really terrified. I think it's something to do with it being sci fi as well..... realistic films only have so many directions but with that you felt like anything could have happened, scary.

The worst horror film i've seen is some thing called 'death tunnel'...... i downloaded it because it was called 'saw 3', some knob had changed the name. good for a laugh but not much else.

I haven't seen it, but apparently the new Amityville Horror was pretty damn scary.

You mean the remake? It didn't strike me as being really scary...

In all honesty, the movie that scared me the most was Jesus Camp.

I saw the Amittyville Horror (the original) on AMC and I thought it was really good. I saw some parts of Amittyville II: The Possession as well and THAT looks like a good horror movie.

And yeah I saw Event Horizon and at the time I could barely keep my eyes on the screen with all that gore but I want to watch it again cause these days I'd find it very entertaining lol.

most "scary" movies turn me off. some seem stupid, others are kinda disgusting.

all the Alien movies were just about right. some suspense, decent special effects, the plot wasn't stupid.................oh yeah, and they also kinda scared me at different moments.

I actually found Signs really scary, probably because I watched it alone when i was a kid.
That home video from Brazil of an alien showing up at a childrens party was damned scary. It sounds ridiculous, but it really scared me at the time.

I had some bad nightmares that night...

Yeah Suspiria's excellent, especially that soundtrack. Scariest would probably be Audition.

"It". That movie ****in' freaks me out. I am terrified of clowns and that movie scared me so bad..."we all float down here..." *shudders*

But when I finally finished the movie I was so damn pissed off because he turned out to be a giant ****ing spider. How ****in' lame. It would have been better if Pennywise stayed in the clown form.

Event Horizon ****ed with my head a little bit too. The original Exorcist was a giant mind**** as well.

I was watching it and I was thinking...pfffft this is boring, but yet I got really into it. When the alien walked past in that video I got a huge feeling of fear all over me. It was damn scary.
