hi guys,
just like the subject says, I would like to develop my ear so I can start learning songs without tab. I am picking up the pent. scales very well, but this is only 5 notes and I find i'm missing out on all the other notes and not recognizing them. Any suggestions?

Listen to an easy song and try to tab it out by ear...

Then work your way up to more complex songs.

here's an ear training website I use for recognizing intervals.

that should give you some idea of how songs work melodically and train you pitches.
I wanted to definitely be a musician or a good preacher or a heck of a baseball player. I couldn't play ball too good-I hurt my finger, and I stopped that. I couldn't preach, and well, all I had left was getting into the music thing.

what are the "easy" songs to start with? and i'm not really concerned about learning chords by ear, i have a book for that, i'm more interested in solos

lol, thats hilarious, I actually figured that one out 2 days ago... can anyone think of easy nursery rhymes like that one? I already did twinkle twinkle little star, rudolph the red nosed reindeer, opening to star wars, canadian anthem and us anthem...
